Christmas Day '14

Top - ASOS  |  Skirt - River Island  |  Shoes - Newlook  |  Earrings - Primark  |  Lipstick - M.A.C "Oh So Chaud"

Merry Christmas!!! Christmas is by far my absolute favourite time of the year and I was super spoilt and lucky to have received all the gorgeous gifts that I did from my friends and family. I also love giving gifts and seeing my families reaction to the presents I have brought for them.

My dad is the ultimate Christmas chef so we always leave the Xmas dinner up to him. We treat ourselves every year with homemade bread sauce, honey roasted parsnips and brussels smothered in stilton sauce and it is always super yummy!

I managed to get my mum to photograph a couple of Christmas outfit pics, and after several takes we managed to find a nice background location and mum got more familiar with a camera. I like to wear a little bit of sparkle on Christmas hence the sparkly velvet skirt and a bit of red, hence the red lipstick.

We all had such a lovely day and are now sitting down with some drinks watching some Christmas tv. I hope everyone had a brilliant day and missing those who aren't here who should be. Bring on next year!

Nothing. To. Wear.

Top - ASOS  |  Skirt - H&M  |  Coat - Boohoo  |  Boots - ASOS  |  Bag - Primark

I'm really not the type to wear trousers other than jeans, even in the winter so i'll usually always be wearing skirts. This denim skirt is super high waisted which is perfect for me as I am rather tall. I wanted to invest in the AA skirt but having seen the price of well over £50 I found this very similar, inexpensive one from H&M and i'm so happy with it.

Uni is going so so well and I'm finally back home for the Christmas break. I wanted to quickly post another everyday outfit before my Xmas post and so here it is. There isn't much time to relax, what with catching up with my friends as well as working on my projects. Deadlines are looming in early January and so I have to keep on track of things throughout this December month. I will be posting all of my work including my beauty images and styling shoots very soon and I can't wait for everyone to see the finished images!

Back to Blogging

Two piece - H&M  |  Coat - Primark  |  Boots - River Island  |  Bag - Primark  |  Necklace - H&M

I'm soo happy to finally be back to blogging after having been gone for over 2 months. I had just started university and was so busy with all my new projects and uni life ect but have finally decided to try and make blogging a weekly thing. Having settled into uni, myself and Kira from aniforstyle decided to go out about Southampton to shoot our editorial trend images. Whilst out we also found a few nice locations and shoot a couple of blog pics.

I am absolutely loving my uni course at the moment and will soon post a few images of what I have been up to including some beauty editorial/ advertisement images and also some trend pictures. Can't wait to start getting some grades on my hard work and I am excited for the future :-)

Apologies for not having posted in so so long but with my move to University as well as freshers week and settling in I just haven't had the time. Although this isn't an outfit post I still feel as though I want to share this group project work which was our first task when we started induction week at uni.

Over the summer we were asked to bring in a selection of white objects including clothing, accessories, make-up ect. We were also asked to select several images of which inspired us and which were to our specific taste and personal style.

As a group our task was to use our inspirations and a mixture of the items we had brought to create an overall shoot image. Our original idea was focused on the popular trend Sports Luxe, however this being an already well known trend we adapted the idea slightly. We created an almost 'futuristic' look focusing on experimenting with textures and layers.

The make-up to which both myself and Charlotte worked on was made up of a very natural dewy-looking skin with strong champagne coloured highlights and dark contours. We then took upon the initial focus of white and injected that into the makeup. Her eyes were dusted with a thick layer of eye shadow and bold eyeliner. As for her hair we slicked it back and dusted it slightly with some white powder and created a gradient effect. Subtle yet effective.

The overall images as shown above were photographed by us but not selected to be our 3 images. However I am so pleased with how they came out. We wanted that robotic/ athletic looking pose whilst still maintaining some degree of femininity, and I believe we achieved this.

Over the past few weeks I have been eyeing some items from the Missguided collection. Many of the the items I have been watching are from their 'Carnaby Girl' trend. I thought I would share with you what I am loving at the moment and have put links to each of the items below :--)

London wandering & ootd

Coat - Boohoo  |  Top - Forever 21  |  Skirt - River Island  |  Sandals - Primark  |  Bag - Primark

I had such a lovely day last Wednesday. I spent the day up in London meeting up with my future university gal and style blogger Kira Jackman (aniforstyle) and taking a whole load of blog outfit pics. We chatted over a few drinks in a quaint little pub whose name we both have forgotten, and then continued our travels across London before stopping at the Slug and Lettuce for a top up and then attending the Bloggers Fashion Event hosted by #Bloggers Love.

The weather was fairly reasonable in London and so a skirt and basic tee was perfect for the weather. The skirt is an off-white/ grey croc print embossed leather skirt. Th t-shirt was a dark grey washed t-shirt with an open slit back. I paired this colour lacking outfit with some tan coloured gladiator sandals. I also brought along my plain black duster coat which is lightweight and was easily thrown on in the evening when the London air got colder.

Don't forget to check out Kira's blog!

On the 3rd of September I attended the Bloggers Love Fashion Week held in Number 1 Penthouse, Leicester Square. The venue was absolutely gorgeous and had a very minimalist interior design style. Set up were a variety of different fashion and beauty brands with a bar and some cake tables dotted about. It was a great opportunity to talk to other bloggers about their style and interests and also to meet new brands and view new products that are very up and coming.

I was given a variety of different clothing pieces and accessories alongside a few beauty products which I have already used and have fallen in love with (review blog posts to follow). Bloggers were able to ask about the companies brands/ products and their collections and future ideas. A few of the beauty brands included Exuviance who showcased a skin-care line focusing on anti-ageing serums and high SPF moisturisers, and Oxygenetix who provide a 'breathable' foundation created for giving high coverage but maintaining healthy skin. They are currently working on bringing out other products such as concealers. A few of the fashion companies that caught my eye were Syreetabadu who created a line of brightly printed prints and extravagant style dresses, and FYT & Co. whose collection consists of backpacks and tote bags alongside clutch bags and hats, all made from the bamboo plant which gives the products a ridiculously soft feel. I will defiantly be purchasing a beanie from them in the near future!

The evening concluded with a fashion show which showcased different brands collections and signature pieces. It was great seeing previews of new pieces and collections which have not launched as of yet. One design caught my eye especially and that was a deep navy lace gown. It was so gorgeous and was simple yet extremely accessorised with sequins and rhinestones.

The evening was thoroughly enjoyable and as a newbie fashion blogger, a good experience as well as I got to meet some new faces and some new brands and lines of products.

Big thanks to Bloggers Love for organising the event and also all the brands and companies for taking part and letting us take a few bits home to try for ourselves!

Coat - Arkive Girls  |  Dress - Boohoo  |  Jumper - Primark  |  Heels - Newlook

So after getting the opportunity to take part is Saskia Rodriguez's photography project, the girls at Arkive Girls kindly gifted me this amazing grid print duster jacket that I wore on the shoot. This was my favourite piece out of the clothing that was brought for the shoot and I could not wait to style it! As I am a huge fan of black I had to incorporate black into this outfit even though a pop of colour would've been a more popular choice for most.

I wore a black shift dress with my fluffy black jumper over the top. This adds some texture to the outfit which makes up for the lack of colour. I threw the white grid print jacket over the top and paired it with some pale blue thick strappy heels.  I also added a small piece of jewellery which is my silver St. Christopher necklace.
